CHEESE COUNTRY TRAIL DETOURS 2026

Due to some compromised bridges on the trail there are two small road route detours on the trail this year. The detours are well signed on the roads, also detours are marked on the maps in the trail kiosks.  There is still full access to all businesses and amenities on the entire trail.

From the Monroe trailhead follow the posted detour South on Bethel Road to Patterson Road and turn right until you intersect with the trail to the left and continue West.

The second detour is West of Browntown: at County MM turn right and continue North to the first left Cisserville Road and turn left, heading West to County N where you will turn left heading South to the first right, Penny Road.

Turn right on Penny Road heading West to County D where you will turn Right on County N heading North to the first left which is Swanson Road heading South to the fiirst right which is Sargent Road heading West to Larse Road where you will turn right heading North to intersect with the Cheese Country Trail continuing West.

Some of these bridges date back to the 1800's. For everyone's safety and enjoyment we will continue working as hard and fast as possible to keep this trail open while improvements are being made.
